FAQs
Frequently asked questions about FLOATING licences.
What happens to my Licence Seat if I close SIDRA INTERSECTION?
Online method – The Licence Seat is released when you close the software. Another user in your organisation can then acquire it.
Offline method – The seat is used from your Licence Seat Pool and will only be released after the selected duration (1, 7, 14, or 30 days). It is not released by closing the software or signing out.
How long will my online Licence Seat remain active?
Your seat remains active as long as:
- The program is running, and
- Your computer is connected to the internet
If you close the program, the seat is released immediately.
If your internet connection drops, the seat remains active until it expires within 60 minutes.
What happens if my computer goes to sleep?
If your computer enters sleep mode while SIDRA INTERSECTION is running:
- The licence seat will not be released
- The application cannot renew the seat
- The seat will automatically expire in 60 minutes
Another user can then acquire the seat. Always close SIDRA INTERSECTION when you're finished.
Can I change the Licence Type while using SIDRA INTERSECTION?
Yes. If you change from FLOATING to another Licence Type (such as 1PC) in the Licence Type tab, the program will release the FLOATING Licence Seat.
What happens if the program updates while I'm using it?
If automatic updates are enabled and a new update is available:
- The update will download and install automatically
- The program will close during installation
- The licence seat will be released when the program closes
What if I keep SIDRA INTERSECTION running but don't use it?
If you keep the program running and lock your computer or leave it unattended, your FLOATING Licence seat remains in use.
This means another user in your organisation cannot use this seat.
Always close SIDRA INTERSECTION when you're finished.
Will my FLOATING Licence work if I sign in via my web browser?
Signing in to your SIDRA User Profile via a web browser is different from signing in via the SIDRA INTERSECTION software.
To acquire a licence seat, you must sign in through the software.
How does the 'Stay Signed in' option work?
When you sign in via the embedded browser or your default browser:
- An Authorisation Token is generated
- This token is saved on your computer
- The software uses this token to acquire licences on your behalf
The token is valid for 30 days. After it expires, you'll be asked to sign in again.
The token does not include your username or password. Your credentials are not saved.
