Enhancements
  • API access to ASSIGN data has now been provided. See SIDRA ASSIGN ↗ in the SIDRA API documentation.
  • Assign Volume Bins now have LV and HV Movement Classes enabled always. This overcomes the issues that occurred if these classes were disabled.
  • When setting ASSIGN O-D Presets, clicking on a very fine line was required which needed too much precision for mouse use. The lines have been made wider to make this task easier.
  • The SIDRA Standard Roundabout Capacity Model used under the US HCM - Metric and US HCM - Customary software setups is now referred to as "SIDRA Standard (HCM)" throughout the program.
  • New data items and API access are added for the new "Source App" parameter in Properties dialogs to provide information about the data and program sources used to create and modify Sites and Networks in a Project file.
  • Slip Lane movements with "Exclude Slip Lane from Signal Analysis" (Lane Geometry dialog, Lane Data tab), and U-turn movements with "Exclude U-Turn Before Intersection from Signal Analysis" (Movement Definitions dialog, Approach Movements tab) checked will not be taken into account in the determination of phase frequency. In previous versions, these movements were always considered.
  • Roundabout capacity values calculated in SIDRA using the US HCM 6 Roundabout Capacity Model option did not match exactly with values calculated using the HCM methodology. This was due to enhancements in SIDRA related to calculations by Movement Class (including Heavy Vehicles). These enhancements are no longer applied, and the Heavy Vehicle adjustment method used in SIDRA for the HCM 6 Roundabout Capacity Model replicates the HCM specification.
  • Software Setup names in the Manage tab, various Information and Properties tabs and in the SIDRA INTERSECTION installer have been enhanced to provide better clarity about whether metric or US Customary units apply.
  • Batch Convert now has options for editing any duplicate IDs found in previous version Project files. The IDs are changed during the conversion process using the option selected by the user.
  • Minor fixes and improvements to user interface.
  • Additions to SIDRA Glossary including ASSIGN terms.
  • Improvements to User Guide and Help system.

Bug Fixes
  • Changes to Site and Assign Volume Bins did not update "Last Modified" information in the Project file.
  • ASSIGN O-D Presets data were not deleted after a Zone was deleted. This led to a "User Interface Error" in some cases.
  • The G-A Trips display in the Assign Data Summary group sometimes gave an error if Attraction or Generation volumes were zero.
  • Fixed a problem with sizing of the adjustable left panel in the ADD ASSIGN NETWORK and MODIFY ASSIGN NETWORK dialogs. Also fixed a bug related to removing Zone Connections in these dialogs.
  • When Desire Lines were displayed using the Combine Both Directions option in SIDRA ASSIGN, the value in the popup was incorrect. The Desire Line thickness was wrongly scaled when using the Each Direction Separately option.
  • Modify Assign Network - Select a Different Assign Volume Bin was not showing the Zones and O-D Volumes name.
  • The message that recommended saving before processing an ASSIGN Network has been removed as it did not give the user any opportunity to save the Project file.
  • Gap acceptance data input for zebra crossings on unsignalised slip lanes was missing from the Gap Acceptance dialog.
  • Fixed a problem with incorrect saturation flow and capacity calculation for some unusual overlap movement cases.
  • Fixed a problem with performance estimates at a roundabout with metering signals in the case of the metered leg which had no opposing (circulating) flow.
  • Some short lane lengths for roundabouts specified with one decimal were displayed with a large number of meaningless decimals in the Layout picture. Short lane lengths will now be shown to the nearest integer value in the Layout Picture.
  • Fixed a case where incorrect results were obtained for a signalised Site with a shared slip lane with left, through and right turn movements all in one lane.
  • Pedestrian Volumes Main Crossing column was not being hidden when no pedestrian crossings were defined for a leg at a Site.
  • Fixed a problem where Clone, Import, Export and Convert were blocked if a Project file was opened from Windows Explorer.
  • Error 513 "movement not identified" which occurred for some unusual slip lane cases and U-Turn Before Intersection cases has been fixed.
  • Fixed an error with Print Preview that occurred on some systems after a Microsoft security update had been applied.

Enhancements
  • Significant improvements to Network Model convergence methods, particularly the Two-Loop Method, to achieve better and faster convergence for many Network cases.
  • Improvements to the calculation and reporting of Travel Time and Delay elements including idling delay, acceleration-deceleration delay and geometric delay.
  • Improvements to Network Layout Display.
  • Text in the TWSC Calibration Table now changes automatically to be specific to the current Drive Rule, avoiding user confusion.
  • For some input changes that do not require reprocessing, the program no longer removes the outputs.
  • An option added for administrators to disallow checking out licences, to prevent misuse of the Offline Licence feature.

    • An additional Trip table to allow input or display of total volume for All Movement Classes according to the Volume Data method used.
    • Column O-D Mode improved for entering O-D data by Movement Class.
    • Improved speed of the dialog when there are several Movement Classes and many Zones.
    • Quick Input function added.
    • Improved Copy and Paste functions for the O-D Volume Matrix.
    • Improved display for All Movement Classes when Growth Rates vary by Movement Class.

  • Improved SIDRA ASSIGN diagnostics for some input errors and for Fixed Route Assignment Only cases.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a problem that caused Saturation Flow values to be allocated to the wrong green periods for some unsignalised Slip Lanes at signalised Sites.
  • Green periods were not correctly identified in some unusual unsignalised Slip Lane cases at signalised Sites.
  • Fixed some processing errors related to effective green time calculations.
  • Error messages related to signal phasing specification did not refer to the correct phase in some unusual cases.
  • Some units in table headers in the Detailed Output were not correctly showing US units when the US Customary setup was used.
  • In some cases, individual Site results changed if the Site was processed following processing of a Network.
  • Fixed a User Interface error that occurred in Network Configuration for right-hand driving setups.
  • Fixed a problem with API access to Movement Class data that indicated some unused Movement Classes were present.
  • Fixed a licensing problem related to API access when a subscription licence was in use.
  • Timeout limits increased to avoid processing timeout errors when processing a large number of Sites or Networks using the SIDRA BATCH PROCESSOR Utility.
  • SIDRA Classic Format Movement Displays for Delay and Degree of Saturation were not showing the correct output values.
  • Fixed a User Interface error that sometimes occurred when opening very large project files.
  • Fixed a problem with number alignment for wide approach roads in the Lane Changes, Lane Flows and Lane Utilisation Network Displays.
  • For the Overall Method of Pedestrian Volume data, differences between Sites were not being reported in Input Comparison.
  • Fixed a problem that prevented installation of the software when there was no internet connection.
  • Fixed a case where an Offline Licence stopped working when there was no internet connection.
  • Fixed refreshing of Offline Licences when the licence was changed.
  • Fixed a case where the SIDRA ASSIGN function was not available with an Offline Licence.
  • The Move Up and Move Down buttons were not working correctly in the Assign Bin Setup dialog, Zone Data Editor tab.
  • Fixed a User Interface error that occurred when cloning an ASSIGN Volume Bin.
  • Fixed an error that occurred when trying to create a Trip Matrix report in Destination-Origin format.
  • Fixed incorrect reporting of the Duality Gap value in ASSIGN Diagnostics when the Incremental Assignment and All Or Nothing methods were used.
  • Fixed updating of ASSIGN Layouts when changes are made to Site geometry.

Users will need to download the new Version 11.0.2 setup file and install manually.

Bug Fixes
  • Resolved an issue that prevented some users from acquiring a cloud licence.
  • OD Presets did not work with exported Assign Networks and cloned Assign Volume Bins.
  • Resolved a problem with the software updater. Automatic updates did not work with Version 11.0.1 and there was no prompting of users about new updates.

This is the first release of SIDRA INTERSECTION 11. This new major version introduces new features and various improvements listed below.

Features and Enhancements

SIDRA ASSIGN

A micro-analytical multimodal traffic assignment module with five assignment methods for Route choice modelling integrated with the detailed lane-based SIDRA Network Model; useful for assessing the impacts of traffic management schemes that result in changes in the Routes used by road users.

Origin-Destination (O-D) Matrix Data

Origin-Destination demand volumes specified in Assign Volume Bins of the Volume Store, and used by ASSIGN to estimate intersection movement volumes while accounting for network-wide traffic interactions and detailed intersection capacity and performance estimation at the lane level.

Enhanced Network Convergence Method

Two-Loop Convergence method introduced as an option for difficult convergence cases for Networks with high levels of lane blockage effects causing oversaturation. The Final Run step removed (was used in earlier versions after the Network model iterations).

Proportion Queued

The estimation of Proportion Queued improved for oversaturated cases of multiple green periods.

Platoon Modelling

Platoon modelling applied to Arterial and Freeway Segments, and general improvements introduced to the platoon model.

New Software Licensing

New Personal, Team and Lab Subscription Licences (CLOUD licences in addition to the existing FLOATING Licence) introduced.
